The new spy comedy called ARGYLLE got panned by most critics when it opened last weekend. But if you’re looking for something light, clever, and fun in the theaters, ARGYLLE just might do the trick. The movie got only a 34% approval rate from professional critics on the Rotten Tomatoes movie review website, but 71% of the audience liked it. That huge discrepancy made me curious, so I checked it out. What I got with ARGYLLE was a very funny parody of a spy movie with preposterous non-stop action and an incredible number of truly surprising plot twists. Starring Bryce Dallas Howard and Sam Rockwell with Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara and Samuel Jackson, ARGYLLE makes clever fun of the whole spy movie genre. It’s far more entertaining that I expected. (in theaters)
