HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A tsunami can come at any time.
That's the message the city wants to share this month — Tsunami Awareness Month.
The city plans held a news conference Wednesday morning to discuss preparedness efforts and what families can do to ensure they're ready for a tsunami threat.
"We've got to be ready every time," Mayor Kirk Caldwell.

Also at the news conference, Caldwell remembered the 159 people killed in the April 1, 1946 tsunami. The destructive waves were triggered by a 7.4-magnitude earthquake off the Aleutian Islands.
