Multiple-vehicle crash on H-1 Freeway near Aiea snarls morning commute
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A multiple-vehicle crash on the H-1 Freeway near Aiea snarled the Monday morning commute.
The crash was reported around 7:30 a.m. just before the Aiea pedestrian overpass.
Honolulu police, Emergency Medical Services and firefighters responded to the crash scene which involved three vehicles.
No word yet on the extent of injuries or what may have caused the crash.
An investigation is ongoing.
Officials closed three left lanes to investigate the scene, which backed up traffic past Manager’s Drive in Ewa.
In effort to alleviate the backlog, the transportation department said the Zipperlane is open to all vehicles, regardless of occupancy, until 9:30 a.m.
