Traffic Alert: Construction on critical Leeward bridge to force closure on busy highway

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Two westbound lanes on Farrington Highway will be closed on Tuesday, August 20 as upgrades to the Maipalaoa Bridge continue.

The work will affect traffic from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. to install concrete and metal railings along the bridge.

A two way contraflow will be set up on eastbound lanes on Farrington Highway, with one lane available in each direction to allow the traffic to flow during the closure.

Expect delays and motorists are advised to plan ahead and allow additional time to get to specific destinations.
