HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The popular Made in Hawaii Festival is this weekend and will feature live cooking demonstrations by some of Hawaii’s top chefs.

Among them is Chef Keoni Chang, Vice President and Chief Food Officer of Foodland Super Market Hawaii, who will be showcasing his culinary expertise on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Chang and festival spokeswoman Olena Heu joined HNN’s Sunrise to talk about what attendees can expect this year.

“We offer the best and freshest of ingredients,” said Chang, who previewed a dish of grilled chicken thighs and fresh salad made of local vegetables, which he described as a tomato-cucumber poke.

Heu said attendees can look forward to cooking demos, fashion shows, live entertainment and more than 200,000 square feet of shopping.

“[The MIHF is] bigger and better than ever … [with] more than 700 vendor booths,” Heu said.

The Made in Hawaii Festival runs from August 23 to 25 at the Hawaii Convention Center. Tickets are $8 for one-day access to the event.
