HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Hawaii News Now weather team is marking this Saturday and Sunday as First Alert Weather Days as a potential tropical cyclone may develop near the Central Pacific.

The cyclone is forecast to pass by Hawaii Island this week, bringing heavy flooding rains, winds and large surf for parts of the state.

Forecasters are currently tracking an area of disorganized thunderstorms located about 1,200 miles southeast of the islands.
