HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Concerned residents were out in full force Saturday to call for an end to ongoing violence on Oahu’s west side.

Three shootings in Waianae in a week prompted city, state, and even federal leaders to take action.

Two teenagers were involved in a double shooting incident Thursday night.

Dozens held signs near Waianae Boat Harbor and Nanakuli Beach Park yesterday, hoping to make change.

Sunday, a sign waving is planned at Mililani at Kamehameha Highway

Elected officials are planning a youth-focused crime prevention town hall for next week. That will be held Wednesday at Waianae High School at 6 p.m.

Also, a gun buyback event will be held at the Aloha Stadium lower parking lot from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. The state is offering gift cards in exchange for guns. For more information, click here.
